My Christmas Plans

These are my Christmas plans. For Christmas and Christmas Eve I will be at home, but before that I will be with my family and traveling across states. I think I will be seeing my uncle and cousins first, over in Destin. Then I will possibly be going to my Grandpa’s house over in Alabama. After that I will go to my Grandma’s house for a while at St. George Island. Finally I will go back home in time for Christmas.

What I want for Christmas

What I want for Christmas. For Christmas I want an Xbox 360 with Modern Warfare 2 or 3. Usually I don’t ask for gaming systems but I haven’t in a while so I decided to do it this Christmas. Since the Xbox comes with kinect my chances are better, because my mom wants a kinect to exercise. I also usually don’t ask for gun games, but I have played this game at my friend’s house and I thought it was very fun... even though he kept winning.

My Platinum Rule

This is my platinum rule. My platinum rule is “do as I say, not as I do.” Last Sunday me and my mom decided to walk home from church, and she was wearing heels. Usually when I only walk with me socks on outside she says that will ruin them. But last Sunday she took off her shoes and started to walk with only her socks on. Then we started joking saying the golden rule is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” and the rule above that is the platinum rule which is, “do as I say, not as I do.”

"The Future of Television"

This is about “the future of television.” The Xbox live company is trying to turn the Xbox 360 into a device for all of your entertainment. They are trying to make it into a television/ gaming system/ voice controlled machine. The update is a free update and will happen tomorrow. This piece of news is an interesting occurrence or anyone who wants an Xbox 360, as it will be a free update, and will increase their happiness factor of getting one. Hint, hint.

What I have Learned in Bible Class

This is what I have learned this year in Bible class. I have learned the life of Jesus and symbols to help remember it. The first symbol is the letter W with your hands because Jesus was and is the word. Next you flap your arms like an angel because of how Gabriel told Mary she was pregnant. Next is the letter M with your hands for the birth of Jesus in the manger. There are symbols all the way to the macarena when he says to be blessed because macarena sounds like a biblical word which means be blessed from like in Matthew 5.

Basketball

This is about me playing basketball. My extra-curricular for my school is playing basketball. I have not started yet but I expect I will soon. My brother is also playing and he will have his first practice later today. Because I am only twelve I am probably going to be taller than most of the other kids, which will help me. I am not too good with shooting the ball, but I have gotten better. I am pretty good at defense, so I hope that helps me when I start, eventually.

My Desk

This is a description of my desk. My desk is a window seat like on an air plane. It gets very bright here so I have to bring big sunglasses to school, the glasses don’t actually have to be big but they are the only size that fits my head. Right now it is actually pretty cloudy outside which is good for me, because I can see my computer screen. The second drawer of my desk broke around the time school started when I tripped on it, it hurt a lot and my leg still has a bruise on it, although now I get to keep my paper right there instead of having to bend to my side to get it. My favorite part of my desk is definitely the view of the wind blowing on the palm trees outside and the different cars driving by, which is probably why I am okay with the sunlight in my face.

One of my Favorite Holiday Memories was...

One of my favorite holiday memories was when I played Spider-Man 2 on my Gameboy. It wasn’t that big of a memory but now I am playing Wii and Xbox and Nintendo DSI so it’s fun to remember the first game I actually played well on my first real gaming system. Back then the Gameboy seemed really big but now it will barely fit in my hands. I also remember the Christmas tree right there to the right with the bright lights and the ornaments. I liked the Spider-Man game so much that I played it almost non-stop for the next days, and now and again I would make a new file to play it some more.

Why I like Snakes on a Plane

This is why I like Snakes on a Plane. Snakes on a Plane is one of my favorite movies, this might be because it’s about snakes. Ironically, my worst fears are snakes and vampires yet I seem to love those movies especially so. Also, this movie has Samuel L. Adams who is one of my favorite actors and has been in many Marvel movies, and as my family knows I am a Marvel Comics fan. A third and possibly final reason I like Snakes on a Plane is the plot line, people being trapped on a plane full of snakes trying to figure out what to do about it, it makes me wonder what I would do.

My Thanksgiving Break

This is what I did on my Thanksgiving break. I had a week long break from school last week so my family and I went to Destin, Florida, like we usually do. While we were there I got to play laser tag for the first time. I beat my dad by 200 points, which I assume means 2 kills. I had to shoot a laser gun at certain places on a person’s vest that they were given for the game. There was a whole other family that was in there making it very fun for me and my dad, my brother also went but I don’t think he had a lot of fun, but it was still one of the best parts about the vacation.

Another Thing I am Thankful for

Another thing I am thankful for is my hats. I like wearing something every day to help me stand out. Once when my family was clothes shopping my mom said I could pick anything I wanted within a reasonable price range, and I saw a fedora. I decided to buy it, but we weren’t able to buy it right then for some reason so a couple of weeks later we bought it. Months after that we were going to go on the Disney cruise ship and my mom said I needed a new hat. We went to a bunch of different stores to find one and after hours of looking, we were able to find one. Later when we were on the ship I got another new hat so now I where all 3 happily.

I Feel I Deserve _______

I feel like I deserve a day or two off. Last year for school I had to finish all of my social studies standards for school. As an incentive my mom said if I finish them all I would not have to go to school for the rest of the quarter. I was able to finish them all a couple of weeks later, and when I reminded my mom about the deal she said I would still have to go to school. I feel I was cheated and deserve some days off when I finish my work this year to make up for the deal.

Highlighters

I don’t think that highlighters should have been invented. They are just a remake of markers. “Look at this awesome new highlighter I just bought.” says the first kid. “That’s cool, Look at these 6 markers I got for less than 6 highlighters.” The only things they are useful for are coloring over words and connecting together to make swords. Both, are things that can be done by markers. Also, they only have about 5 colors, markers have many more colors than that.

I'd Walk a Mile for ________

I’d walk a mile for exercise. Walking a mile sounds like good exercise to me, so if I were to do it it would probably be to lose weight. I think I would be doing this on the bridge with my mom, or I would be doing at my grandma’s beach house. It would be like the time I biked eight miles, only easier. I assume it would be easier. I have just decided to walk a mile for exercise next time I go to my grandma’s beach house. I think we are going there for Christmas so I could do it then. I just hope my siblings will agree to go with me.

Another Thing I am Thankful For

This is another thing I am thankful for. I am thankful for the brain God has given me. With it, I can excel in math, I can get good grades in my other class, and I have a great memory. For math I am on algebra in 8th grade and learning all of that I can. I also have straight “A”s in my other classes. With my brain I have been able to remember a code made up of phone numbers and internet security codes for months. The code is 40415251574447904903843216999584346912448434252414.

What I have Learned in Science this Year

This is what I have learned in science this year. This year in science I have learned a lot about earthquakes. I have learned what “P” and “S” waves are, how to locate an earthquake, and what each wave can go through. “P” waves are the first vibrations to come from an earthquake, they are also known as primary waves. “S” waves are the second group of vibrations to come from an earthquake, they are also known as secondary waves. “P” waves can travel through gases, liquids, and solids, while “S” waves can only travel through solids (S for solid). I have also learned how to locate an earthquake. In order to do this you need to recall that “P” waves are faster than “S” waves. You need to have a device to measure vibrations, known as a seismograph, in one location and another in another location. Using the data from the two devices and the time difference from “P” to “S” waves, you can triangulate the center of the quake.

A Man Named Greg

This is a story about a man named Greg. There was once a gregarious man named Greg. He had to make a decision on who to invite to his party, so that there would be no ambivalence. He decided to invite his most pious friends. He knew he would need very good elocution when they came over to his house. He read certain verses of the Bible knowing they would encourage him. He thought he should deploy some dip on the table for them to eat. He had a very tenacious grip on the chips as he put those on the table next. After this he put down some more food, fearing that his friends might be voracious that night. When he felt he had a copious amount of food he sat down and waited for his friends. A while after all his friends got there and ate the food they all sat down quietly and waited for spiritual edification.

If I Could Change One Thing about my School

If I could change one thing about my school it would be the awnings. I have a window seat and most of the days it is very sunny. I don’t want to just change seats because I want to be able to see what’s going on outside, like on an airplane. I would make them longer so the sun wouldn’t always be in my eyes. It is so bright, I can hardly see what I’m working on because I can see my reflection on my computer screen.

What I am Thankful for 1

This is what I am thankful for. I am thankful I have my own room. A couple of years ago I lived in the same room as my brother Luke. The foster sisterswho lived in the small room in the middle of our hallway moved out so I got the choice to move into their room. I accepted the offer, so now I have the privacy of my own room and I could color the walls any color I wanted.

What it would be like to be Mayor of Mt. Pleasant

This is what I feel it would be like to be the mayor of Mt. Pleasant. To be the mayor of Mt.Pleasant doesn’t sound all that fun to me. You will just sit at a desk all day signing paperwork and making tough decisions that affect everyone around them. When you’re not doing that you might be out at schools or other Mt. Pleasant businesses talking about the same old stuff over and over: what it’s like to be the mayor, how hard it is, and things about his family. If he’s not working he might be out with his family, and when he is people always stare at him. So basically I would not like to be the mayor.

My Spelling Words

This is a paragraph that uses my spelling words. I went to school once and I was bored. I was bored because I hadn’t anything to do to before dessert that night. I threw a ball at the wall a bunch of times to try and entertain myself. Once I threw the ball and it went through the wall. The ball went all the way to the desert so I had to go and get it. By the time I got it and came back it was time for dessert.

What I'll be Doing for Halloween

This is what I’ll be doing for Halloween. For Halloween instead of trick-or-treating my family does what we call Family Fun Night. On Family Fun Night we all go out and have dinner at our favorite restaurant Chili’s. Whenever I go to Chili’s I order a bowl of the chicken enchilada soup, which is my favorite. After this we will see a movie, this year it is Puss in Boots. My only hope for this is that Scott, my baby brother, will have a good attitude and let my mom watch it with us.

My Extra Curricular

This is about my extra curricular. My extra curricular class is Lego Robotics. In this class a man called Dr. L tells us how robots work and how we can program the robot machines we build to do things. To make a device do something first, we have to program a machine called an RCX. We tell the RCX to do whatever we want it to and then we build the RCX onto things like motors or gear, then we watch the magic happen.

How the Holy Spirit has Helped me Learn Things

How the Holy Spirit has helped me learn things. I was on a Disney Cruise ship last week and I felt like I should look in my Bible. So I took out my phone and opened the Bible app and I felt like I needed to turn to Romans 8:28. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” I felt this verse was very good for my life and that the Holy Spirit led me to it. I have tried to live my life by this policy since then.

My Fictional Planet

This is about my fictional planet. On this planet there are only houses that wait to be destroyed by asteroids because the planet has no atmosphere and only gives out houses, statues, and ferns from the ground. No one and nothing lives on this planet except for the bushes. This picture was taken by a satellite yesterday. It has no economy because no one lives on it. The asteroids that hit it land on the buildings and destroy them, then they stick to the planet and make it larger until it gives out a house and then destroyed by another asteroid.

The Time I Met the Aflac Duck

This is the story of how I met the Aflac duck. Once I was walking in a building and I saw a duck who kept saying Aflac and I thought he was weird. He was so weird I decided to give him some asparagus to eat. The very sight of the asparagus I was going to give him made his feathers fall off. I decided to give him some bread instead and he liked it. After that we went to play some basketball and I beat him by 5 points.

What I've Learned this Week in Science.

This is what I have learned this week in science. This week in science I have learned about fossils. I have learned what molds and casts are, and what carbonization is. I have also learned how we separate the different eras of time. We do so based on what animals or species were alive in that time.

Chapel

This is what happened today in chapel. Today in chapel we had a guest speaker, his name was Pastor Steve. He came and read us some verses from Acts and how the Apostles were brave. Then near the ending he told us prophecies God had given him about us. He gave me one and said that I would be a leader and people under me would ask me what to do and they would await my answer.

If I had an ATM that gave me Anything I Wanted Besides Money

If I had an ATM machine that gave out anything besides money, I would have the ATM machine give me a big check worth a lot of money. I don’t see why you would get something besides money. With money you could buy anything you wanted. You couldn’t just have it give you stuff to sell because you might not be able to sell it for all the money you want to buy something you do want. I am just getting the next best thing to money. P.S. 80th blog!!!

I Used to Think

I used to think I wouldn’t have to start mowing my lawn until I was 15. I was very very wrong. Now every 2 weeks or so I am mowing my grass and I am only 12. I also used to think my backyard only had two holes that you could accidentally step in. I was wrong, because as I was mowing the lawn I constantly stepped in holes I didn’t see and hurt my legs. I also used to think there weren’t many ant hills at my house. I was very wrong because whenever I mow the lawn I have to either attack an ant hill and risk getting bitten by a bunch of ants or I can mow around the hill and let the grass in the ant hill get really tall.

Rosh Hashanah

This is a description of Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. The first of the Days of Awe, Rosh Hashanah is celebrated on the first two days of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar nine and eight days before Yom Kippur. It is described in the Torah as a day of sounding the Shofar.

What Happened Yesterday

This was what happened yesterday. I ran home from school yesterday then I realized my mom was ready to drive me home instead, so I ran back to school for her to get me. After that she drove me home and just after we left we ran out of gas rights where I stopped running to get back to school. I had to go to the gas station and buy a gallon of gas then some guy grabbed the gallon as I was taking it back to the car and threw it on the ground. After which he got a lighter and threw it on the gasoline and I made a narrow escape from trouble by jumping out of the way and buying more gas to give to my mom. Then got back to the car and asked her if she saw the explosion and was worried. The she said she saw the explosion, but she figured she would before it happened. I asked her why after she said that and she said it was because I did the same thing yesterday and agreed. After that she drove me home and we all lived happily ever after until the next day when it happened again.

A Time When me and my Grandma were Together

This is a time my grandma and I were together. We were riding bikes at her beach house to go to a field where my family would play baseball. My sister had put a basket on the front of my bike and I didn’t like it there. So when I was riding I tried to take it off, but then my bike went out of control because I only had one hand on the handle. After that my grandma gave me some bandages and she helped me limp back to the house. Then we sat down outside and talked about what happened and my grandma cared for my wounds and made me feel better.

If I Weren't Doing This

This is what I would be doing if I didn’t have to write this w2l. If I didn’t have to write this w2l I would be playing a game on my computer. Either that or working on my math. I probably wouldn’t be doing the math because I am required to read paragraphs for the lesson and I don’t want to do that. I like to do math where you just see a problem and solve it. Although this math does only make me do 8 questions per lesson and I am grateful for that.

Why Milkshakes Should be Served in the Cafeteria at Lunchtime

Hello Dad, I feel milkshakes should be served at the cafeteria during lunch. The reason I feel this way is milkshakes are scientifically proven to be healthier for you than water. Also they are much better for you than donuts which I also think we should serve. The most persuasive part of my argument is that I really want them in the cafeteria for lunch and I am your son and you love to make me happy. However the reason I find most important for milkshakes to be served in the cafeteria is that they taste awesome.

Mr. Charlton Singleton

Today my school had a visit from a man named Charlton Singleton. He is a musician who plays a lot of instruments and conducts the Charleston choir. He told us about how he got into music and how much he had to practice every day playing the same note on a trumpet for 2 minutes straight. I feel this could impact my life because I need to practice my guitar in to play it well.

All my Blogs

This is about all of the blog posts I have done. Each day at my school we have to write what we call a W2L, which stands for Write to Learn. After this we send them to our teacher Mrs. Carey and she reviews them. After this we post the revised version of our W2L as our blog. Yesterday I hit a grand total of 70 blogs making this my 71st blog of which I am very proud and I hope to make it to 100 blogs total by the end of the year.

If I could be any Animal for a Day

If I could be any animal I would be a lion. The reason I would like to be a lion is that as I lion I would get to sleep about 21 hours each day. Then when I am not asleep I will be hunting with my pride. Oh, the thrill of the chase. My final reason I would like to be a lion is because it is my favorite animal, especially the white lions for their coloring.

What I've Learned this Week in School

This is what I have learned this week in school. This week in school I learned how tennis balls are filled with air. They are originally two halves, but then they are fused together and the air they have inside them is pressurized for a good tennis ball like ounce. I also learned the location of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Myrtle Beach. My dad has also taught me the verses Philippians 2: 5-8 “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

Five Excuses for not Doing my Work

These are five excuses not to do my work. I had something better to do. I was busy playing on my iPhone. I would do it but I just got hit by a car. The president just called and ordered you not to make me do this. I was busy selling all my textbooks.

If I could Live Anywhere in the World

If I could live any place in the world I would live in South Africa. I would live there because I have a lot of family members that live over there. Half of my family lives over there, and where they live isn’t too different from where I live. They still live in the suburbs and they still have regular furniture. Also they have really good deserts. The number one reason I would live there would still have to be my family members that live there, they are very fun and love Jesus Christ.

My Experience with Hurrican Irene

This is my experience of Hurricane Irene. I had to take out the trash on Friday and when I did there were a lot of clouds outside. They were moving very fast and had a little bit of thunder to them. There was also a wind coming in but it was not too hard. Also the rain had not started yet. I then went back inside my house and a couple hours later it rained for about ten minutes and the power went out for 7 seconds. The next day I was told the clouds were part of Irene and I thought to myself, “That was a small storm for a hurricane.”

What I've Learned so Far in Social Studies

This is what I’ve learned in Social Studies. So far in Social Studies I have been learning about the Indian culture and the relationship of the Indians and the English settlers. For instance, I have learned that the Cherokee Indians used blowguns. These were 8 feet long sticks that were hollowed out so that they could fit a small dart inside to blow at animals. Also the relationship between the Catawba and the settlers was very good. This was demonstrated by the Catawba that protected the English from more violent Indians. The relationship between the two went well until the Catawba started to get diseases like small pox from the settlers. This is what I have been learning about so far in Social Studies.

My Influential Leader

An influential leader in my life has been my friend Zack. He has known me my whole life and is a very strong Christian. He is also very funny and knows when to tell people to be quiet. Plus he knows when to punish someone. He always seems to think I could be really strong in Christ so he tries to get me to read my Bible, also he teaches me new guitar chords since I’m learning. Those are the reasons why he is an influential leader in my life.

The Time I Stood Out from the Crowd

This was a time I stood out from the crowd. Once I went on the Disney Cruise ship and I went to a kid’s room. They were playing karaoke there and up next was a kid who had a speech problem. His brain was wired so when he tried to say something he just muttered and said things like “kdshofhou”. He started singing and a few people were up with him. Later a few people left the mumbling boy on stage and I was the only one with him and I stayed with him to the very end of the song.

The Nicest thing Anyone has Ever done for Me

The nicest thing anyone has ever done for me was on my 12th birthday when my parents gave me an iPhone. For the past couple of years I wanted a phone so badly. My sister had one, my mom had one, my dad had one, and some of my friends did, too. When my sister was 11 she got a phone, so I expected to get one then as well. When I didn’t, I got very sad. The next year on my 12th birthday I was hoping I would get a phone; I didn’t like how I had to wait a whole year than my sister but as long as I got a phone I would be happy. After everyone gathered around to see me open my presents I heard a phone ring over on the living room television. I went to see where it was coming from and I saw a brand new iPhone. I was so happy and I decided it was definitely worth waiting an extra year.

How I Think the School Year is Going

This is how I think the school year is going. The first two days of school went very well, on the first day we met all the new students and had a lot of fun. Their names were Aaron, Caleb, Weston, Darcy, Hunter, Anna, Elise, and Weston. They had some trouble getting used to capture the flag recess but they got the hang of it. The next day was very good, another school brought us cookies and then at recess a man brought us brownies. Despite tripping on a desk drawer and scraping my knee really badly I’d say today also went pretty well, and I hope the rest of the year is just as good, except for the injuries I don’t want any more of those.

My favorite memory of the school year

This is my favorite moment from the whole school year. My favorite moment of the school year was when I finished my math curriculum. Because I finished it I got to take almost a month off from math. Also I finished all of my social studies projects at the beginning of the week so I didn’t have to do that either. The only things left to do were journal and language arts, but my language arts wasn’t working so I didn’t have to do that. The journals/w2l I still had to, but I only had to do 1 every day and some days I didn’t have any. So I barely had to do any work for 2 weeks at school!

Come to My School

Hello, I would like to invite you to my school, Crown Leadership Academy. At this school we work on computers instead of textbooks; because of this you don’t have carry heavy backpacks full of textbooks. We also get to go to which ever park we want for recess; this means we would get variety in our selection. Another fact about our school is we all take extra-curriculars so we get to learn new skills such as mechanics or guitar. When you come here you get the full experience to learn information instead of just memorizing it. Here at Crown we also give you the chance to design your own schedule for the day, teaching the average student to get done what they need to get done, when they need it to get done. Along with all of this we are going to have option Fridays so that if your parents don’t say you have to go to school on Fridays you don’t have to. If you would like to learn more please visit corwnleadershipacademy.org.

My convo with a penguin

One day I had a conversation with a penguin, he said that someone made a movie about him. In the movie he tried to sing a song but he couldn’t, instead he could only dance. Because of this his friends and family shunned and banished him, so he went to hang out with some other penguins that were much smaller than him and collected rocks. Then he left the theatre he was watching the movie in to go and sue the creators of the movie for telling his tale without asking for the legal rights.

My Ideal Field Trip

This is my ideal field trip. My ideal field trip would be going home. I would have fun watching television and making toast. I would be able to go on a tour with the rest of my class and say where my kitchen is, then they could all leave and I could relax. It would be very fun because right next door I could have lunch at my house instead of going to Chick-Fila. But the best reason I would like a field trip at my house is because then I could stay there for the rest of the day.

To validate

This is what it means to validate someone. To validate someone means to make them feel good about themselves. You could do this by commenting positively about their hair, eyes, skills, talents, attitude, or anything else about them. This could be very encouraging to other people, and make people like you more. A good leader should be able to do this.

What A Leader Needs tom Be Like

These are the aspects a leader should have. A leader should be able to listen to people when he is wrong or any other time. A leader should be fair and kind, yet he should also be able to get strict. A leader needs to be able to think things all the way through so his plans actually work out. Mostly, a leader should be able to work together with the people he leads.

What I like about my Friend Lauren

Tomorrow is my friend Lauren’s birthday, so I am going to write about what a great person she is. Lauren is one of the smartest people I know. She loves to laugh and is always ready to find something positive in anything. She loves art and paintings; she will even encourage all of her friend’s art. What I like most about Lauren is how considerate she is of other people’s feelings, and how she can make them feel so special.

What I am doing in math

This is about what I’ve been doing in math at the moment. I have finished my school’s math curriculum and am doing an algebra course. In this algebra course I am using substitution to find the value of “x” and “y”; I am also using elimination and graphs to complete the same goal. Along with these procedures, I am trying to determine whether a slope is negative or positive. This is what I have been doing in math so far.

Today's chapel service

This is about the chapel service my school had a couple minutes ago. We were talking with some people who had just come out of prison a month ago. (It’s not what you think.J) They were volunteering in a ministry service where they went to prisons, and gave the prisoners cookies and prophetic words. They were given the chance to show God’s mercy and love to women who had never experienced the slightest bit of kindness. This shows that they are die hard Christians and want everyone to know of His glory.

What I did over Spring Break.

Last week was my school’s spring break, where we get a week off from school. The first thing I did in spring break was lying down and watches television at my house. Then on Tuesday morning I went to my friend’s house to spend the night. The next day I came home and played with my baby brother Scott. The next day I relaxed in peace. On Friday I went over to my cousin Soleil's house, up in Spartanburg. The next day I left and got home where I watched television and went to sleep. The next day I went to church, came home, had an Easter egg hunt, and went to bed. Once I woke up I had to get ready for school, so I could come here and type this once my spring break had sad fully ended.

My school's speed

This is how I can go fast with my work at my school. At my school, we all go through all the classes at our own pace. At most schools every student has to go at the speed as the rest of the class, but here at Crown Leadership Academy we get the chance to go as fast as we can learn the information. Because of this, I have finished the math curriculum, started on a new one, am going to finish science class in 2 weeks (or if I wanted even sooner),  and if any kids need extra help with a subject they get it from both students and the teachers.

Why I like the rain

This is how I feel about rain. I like rain more than most people. Some prefer it bright and sunny; I on the other hand like it dark and dreary. A reason for this is that my school uses computers instead of textbooks and I have a window seat, so if I sit at my desk on a bright and sunny day my reflection keeps blocking my screen, making it harder to work. Another reason is that I probably get it from my dad who also enjoys the rain, but the strongest reason I like the rain are the gray clouds in the sky. Sometimes I just like to watch the clouds and see how fast they are going, because many times they are faster than they normally are.

Advice for the interview

Today my mom has a job interview so here is some advice for it. I think since she is interviewing for the job of a tutor she needs to talk about the experiences she has had as a teacher. This could even include that she is starting a school right now as the teacher. She should also say that she used to be a tutor so that the interviewers know she was a veteran. But mostly (and I know my dad would appreciate my saying this) she needs to pray and ask God for help.

The man in the dark cloak

One day a little boy decided to go to the library. He asked the librarian where the science-fiction stories are and she said that they were in the back of the library. When the boy finally got the science-fiction books a man in a dark cloak was there also and started to watch him. When the boy turned to see why the man was looking at him the man was turning around the corner to leave, so the boy decided to follow him. The boy followed the man all around the library, through the non-fictions, to the autobiographies, even to the back of the library. When the boy was just about to catch up with the man the man turned around a corner, and was gone.

What my class did today in chapel

This is what happened today in chapel. Today in chapel we did a skit about sinning and repenting and turning away from God. My friend Matthew played a normal person who sinned a couple of times but then repented and turned to God. I played a normal person who decided not to repent and kept on getting further and further away from God. The moral was that it was better to repent then stay away from God.

How God protects me

These are the things God can protect and help me with in my life. God can protect me from anything and everything in my life. He can do so by using my parents, my siblings, my friends, and anything else He needs to. He helps me with whatever I might need help with. He does this by using His power to overcome any obstacle I face.

Billy Graham's impact on Christianity

Earlier today I and my schoolmates watched a video about Billy Graham so using that I am going to write about Billy Graham's impact on Christianity. Billy Graham was able to convert thousands and thousands of people to the Christ. He saved people in international proportions, all the way from North Carolina to Korea. An amazing thing was that he was able to save so many people, by just doing what seemed to be the same message over and over.  This proves that many people want to know of the Christ and can be saved bsy even the same subject, over and over again and Billy Graham proved this.

Whether or not boys and girls should dress formally for church

This is my statement as to whether boys and girls should dress formally to church or not. I feel there is no definite answer to this question as the real answer depends on your church. There is a difference if you go to a “choir” church as I call it, meaning very prestigious, or a casual church with friends just being around each other and worshiping. In a “choir” church you should indeed wear suits and ties or dresses as is that church’s way, but if you go to a casual church your dress-wear doesn’t matter as long as you are worshiping God.

My current math

This is how far I have gotten in math and what I am doing now. I have finished this school’s math curriculum, so now I am doing an algebra course. To do this algebra course I have to go through a lot of the work I did for the last curriculum but then I will be able to do algebra. But for now I am going over finding the area of triangles and rectangles/ squares and the circumference along with area of circles. Along with this I help many other kids in the school, specifically Lauren Wooddy and Bennett Yuhas.

A prayer for the Japanese

Japan recently had a terrible earthquake followed by a tremendous tsunami. For the people who suffered casualties during these tragedies I pray this prayer, “God, tons and tons of people have suffered from this and please protect anyone who has had a family member hurt or lost. Please, you have the power to help the families and the people who were hurt and let those who were killed during the terrible disasters be safe in heaven with you. Amen”

A list of countries

Some kids in my school are working on a project with a school in Florida. The project is about different education methods in different countries so here are some countries who's educational techniques, I would like to study.

South Africa

Honduras

I'm not sure if this counts for the list but I would like to study the Ancient Americans ways of learning.
as well.

China

Russia

Japan

Billy Graham's Childhood

To learn about how Billy Graham became a great leader, I am learning about his childhood. He was born November 7, 1918 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was the first of four children, two boys and two girls. The entire family was Christian Presbyterian, and attended church regularly. In 1933, when the Prohibition ended,Billy's father made him drink beer until he threw up, he did this so they would both hate alcohol. At the age of 16, Billy attended many revival meetings run by the evangelist, Mordecai Ham. Even though Billy was a well-behaved child, Ham's sermons on sin spoke to him. The sermons made him want to follow Christ as much as he could, and give his life to him.

The questions for Wisconsin

Today my school is going to talk over the internet with a school in Wisconsin, and these are the questions I am going to ask them. First of I am going to do the everlasting cheese joke, “Have you been having a Gouda day?”  Next I will ask them how much cheese they usually eat over there in Wisconsin. The next question is whether or not they have any carnivorous plants, because that is a project we are working on together. Finally, the last time we video chatted there was a kid jumping in the background so I might ask, “Why is he jumping?” if he decides to do so today.

My extr-curricular classes

This is about my extra-curricular classes. My two extra-curricular classes are basketball and guitar. So far guitar has gone pretty well the chords of A, Am, D, C, Cadd9, E, Em, and G. Basketball, on the other hand, ended a while back. When it did, my whole team and I got cool rewards that my coach spared no expense in making. (Even though they were paper plates with marker written on them.) I got the reward for best rebounder, yay! But that was only our coach’s last game; he left the day of our next game for a vacation he had planned a while back. That’s why our assistant coach was the actual coach during the game. The game was very fun and the final score was, I think, 7 to 42 with us as the 42. So that is how my extra-curricular classes have been going so far.

The monsters known as Venus Flytraps Part IV

Right before the giant Venus flytrap was able to swallow them, Nick threw a can of weed killer at it and when the swat agents started to shoot at the monster they got the can as well making an enormous mist of destruction the trap shot its head right into; making the beast fall to the ground in defeat. “That was… Awesome!!!” yelled Danny in excitement. Then Nick and Danny were able to explain what had happened to the plants and how they had their own ammunition ready.
“Well that’s quite a story you boys made up, isn’t it?” said the swat soldier joke fully.
“It’s true!” screamed Nick very angrily, “All of it is completely true, me forgetting my science project, the guy at the magazine store, the nuclear plant, everything!”
“Look kid.” The soldier said now looking dead serious, “This is very serious and I am asking you know not to lie when I ask, is any of that story true?” Then right as Danny was about to answer for Nick, another flytrap came falling down about to land on top of them.
“Run!” yelled Danny. Then they all ran away as fast as they could, right to another plant. So they ran again when suddenly another Venus fly trap came out of nowhere, then another, and another, and yet another.  “AAAAAAAAAAAgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh” yelled the group simultaneously. Then it happened, right before the fly trap squashed them all… Nick woke up.
“Huh, no, stop it, stop It.” said Nick while he was asleep, and abruptly. “Whoa,’ said Nick who was now awake, “what a weird dream.” But then as he was just feeling secure about the dream being a dream he saw a big Venus fly trap on his desk and then he fainted.

My favorite Dr. Seuss book

My favorite Dr. Seuss book is Green Eggs and Ham. It’s one of the only two I have ever read, but I still think it would probably be my favorite. One of the reasons I like it is because everyone knows it. Sometimes I will be reading a really good novel and tell someone about it and they will say, “Oh, I’ve never heard of this book.” Another reason I like it is the rhyming scheme. I like poetry or books that rhyme because they make me really follow along to hear what will rhyme with what. I am saying this because today is Dr. Seuss’s birthday so say happy birthday and eat green eggs and ham for dinner tonight. J

My latest science project

I had a science project yesterday that was very easy. It said to contrast the physical properties of metals and nonmetals. I thought that it meant to go to a molecular level to see the differences but there are so many metals and nonmetals I couldn’t figure out what it meant. But then I found out physical properties just meant stuff like how thick is it, how dense is it, how reflective is it, and stuff like that, so I just had to say that stuff about metals and I passed the project with a 100%.

The monsters known as Venus Flytraps Part III

At the city… “Hey, watch where you’re driving!” yelled Marty at the oncoming and panicking drivers.
“Wow, everyone in the city is driving away from these things and we’re the only people crazy enough to drive to them,” said Danny “I mean just look at those things!” So all the people in the car looked at the Venus flytraps and saw something odd they hadn’t noticed before, some of the Venus flytraps were falling down.
“Why are they all falling?” asked Danny.
“Venus flytraps are carnivorous plants, they need to eat flies or bugs to survive and their new metabolism requires more than they can get.” answered Marty.
“Well if they’re carnivorous why don’t they just eat people?” asked Danny.
“They’re probably trying to, but anyone and probably everyone who saw these things would run away as fast as possible. Now please no more questions I’m trying to drive through a whole city of scared people, so we can go and kill these plants!!!” said Marty very angrily.
“Sorry.” said Danny in a moody way. “Hey Nick, are you okay? You haven’t said a word since we left the nuclear plant.” Then Nick remembered how at the nuclear plant Danny had come up with the idea of weed killer on the flytraps and how they should go to spray them. He also remembered how they had stocked up on weed killer as they left the deserted garden supply store.
“Yeah I’m fine.” said Nick as sarcastically as he could. “My science project is just going to destroy everything, even though it wouldn’t be if I’d just remembered my stupid project in the first place. So yeah, I’m just swell.”
“Well just calm down, we can beat these things I mean how many are there, 7, maybe 8.” Danny said. reassuring Nick things would be okay.
“50.” said Marty, “It’s actually more like 52.”
“Well you didn’t have to say that.” said Danny who was now angry.
“Look, why don’t we just let swat deal with this I mean it already looks like 7 cars full of people have already arrived.” Then Nick realized what he had just said. The plants now had 7 cars full of people who were about to be eaten and keep the fly traps going on for a very long time.
“We’re here.” Said Marty, “Get out and spray as many of them as you can.” So when all three of them left the vehicle and loaded up on spray they ran and attacked all the plants they could, all except for Marty who had left the kids to be eaten and save his own life.
Once Nick realized this he yelled to Danny “Hey, where’s Marty?” To this question Danny just shrugged. After which he shook his can of weed killer, picked at the lid, and through spinning spray all around until it hit a fly trap and knocked to the ground.
“I can’t believe that worked!” Danny yelled over to Nick.
“Probably because they’re starving,” Nick yelled back, “So we can’t let them get the swat soldiers. Then they ran over to the swat team to help them, killing all the Venus flytraps they could then when they got there they tried to tell a swat soldier what they were doing.
But the soldier just said, “What are you kids doing here don’t you see those monsters? Here get behind me.” Nick and Danny tried to tell him what was going on but the soldier wouldn’t let them. “Get ready boys!” yelled the soldier as the flytrap directly in front of them snapped down his big leafy head to swallow them.
To be continued…

My character Adam Sandler

If I were having a movie about myself, I would like Adam Sandler to play my character. Adam Sandler is very funny and in a lot of movies which is why I would like him best to play my part. Another reason is that whenever you see a television commercial with Adam Sandler you know the movie has to be good. When I made the decision of Adam Sandler for my movie I was also thinking Johnny Depp but Adam Sandler has been in some of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen, such as Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Bedtime Stories, Grown Ups, and Click. All these movies against Johnny Depp’s movies make me think Adam is the better choice for my comedic ways, even though Johnny is both funny and skilled in Pirates of the Caribbean. So in the end I just feel Adam Sandler would really fit me and my dialogue.

The monsters known as Venus Flytraps Part II

Later that day during History class… “Okay children, please open your textbooks to page 79” commanded the teacher.
As they were opening the textbooks they heard a giant crashing sound and ran to the window and you could hear all the kids scream, “It’s a giant plant!”
Then the alarms of the school sounded and all the children ran out of the building and Danny said to Nick,” hey weren’t you holding that earlier today on the bus?!”
“I was!” yelled Nick over the sound of the screaming and panicking school.
At the magazine store… “Hey isn’t that one of our Venus fly traps?” said a worker.
“Move over let me see,” said Marty,” Oh my, oh my, oh my how did this happen?” as he ran to the seed pile they had and there he saw it a big glob of green slimy ooze.
Then the doors burst open, and in came running Nick and Danny,” Hey!” said Nick, “I ordered one your guys’… Whatever’s and now it’s destroying everything!” Wait you don’t even know what it’s called?” asked Danny. “Look kid, it’s called a Venus fly trap and we don’t know how this happened but I know who does.” he said as he pointed to the green ooze from the wall.
At the nuclear plant… “What is going on over here?!” yelled Marty. “Nice to meet you,” said a man, “I run this place and my name is Mr. Travonski. Who might you be?”
As an answer Marty said “I am Marty I run the business right next to-
“Look,” interrupted Nick, “some slime stuff got on a bunch of plant seeds next door through a hole in the wall how’d it get there?”
“Well we are a nuclear plant so we are going to have some slime.” Answered Mr. Stravinsky
“No, I mean the hole.” corrected Nick.
“Why didn’t you just say so?” asked Mr. Travinski “Well we have had an increased number of accidents lately maybe that has something to do with it. Why are you asking all these questions?”
“Nick here,” said Danny while pointing to Nick,” forgot to do his science project so he ordered a Venus flytrap, and your guys’ gooey stuff got all over the seeds and made his plant grow into a giant.”
“He got a plant from a magazine store?” Mr. Travinski asked curiously.
“Yes,” answered Marty we give a Venus flytrap seed to each of our subscribers.“
Suddenly Marty got a worried looked on his face, “THE OTHER SEEDS!!!” After that he ran out of the building with the others following him, and when they got back to the magazine store they saw it… A big empty box, exactly where all the seeds were.

The monsters known as Venus Flytraps Part I

“Oh man,” said Nick “I have a science project due on Monday and I forgot about it.  It’s Saturday!”
So he threw his magazine to the ground in frustration.  Interestingly, it opened to the last page with an ad for a free Venus flytrap, as long as you subscribe. Nick remembered how his science teacher had been talking about these the previous week at school. Quickly, he filled in the subscription and sent his order for the carnivorous vegetation.
The next day at the magazine store… “Looks like we got another subscription, Marty” said a worker.
“Just send the kid a packet and this month’s issue.” said Marty.
So the worker put a seed packet inside a box with a magazine and sent it to Nick. But what they didn’t know, was that there was a hole in the wall dripping ooze from the next door nuclear plant, and the ooze from the nuclear plant was dripping right on the Venus flytrap.
The next morning at Nick’s house… “Wow, that package came just in time!” He said as he could see the bus coming and remembering last night when the package arrived at his front door.” And it really grew; I thought I would have to do stuff to it.”
What Nick didn’t know was that no one had cared for the plant or even knew it had really become a plant.
When he got to the bus he saw his friend Danny and sat down next to him,” Hi Danny,” he said,” what is your science project?”
“What?” said Danny,” That was due today?Oh man…hey can I share your, uh, what is that thing your holding?”
“Oh” acknowledged Nick,” It’s a, um, um it’s a, it’s a,” suddenly Nick realized he forgot the plant’s name!  Oh no! How was he going to show it to his teacher when he couldn’t even remember its name? “I’ll, uh, tell you later. Until then you have to just wait like the rest of the class.” Nick said feeling proud about the excuse he had just made.
Then they got to school and Nick put his flytrap in his locker after saying,” I will see you later today in science… Say, have you gotten bigger?”

What I am Passionate about

I am Passionate about my grades. Ever since I can remember I have had straight A’s on my report card, so whenever report card season comes I become much too worried about my grades. Sometimes it gets to the point where I stay up at night worrying. Although when I get my grades and I see they are as great as usual I am happy and very pleased. Later that night I and my family usually eat dinner at a fun pizza restaurant.

Chapel today

This is what we did today in chapel. Today is Tuesday which means we have chapel. Today I and my 6 classmates made our own Kingdoms with our own rules. 2 of my friends had kingdoms of total anarchy, and one had Michael Jackson as its leader. Others were perfect Kingdoms and others had slaves as civilians. Although in the end we learned why rules are good for us. In the end we learned rules are there to protect us.

A time I felt especially loved

This is a time when I felt especially loved. I felt loved when I made 4 points in a basketball game. A lot of the parents there know me so when I made my first basket of the night the crowd went wild and almost everyone cheered. The second time I made a basket the same thing happened but I was even happier. After that I went home to my family who were very happy for me.

A thank you note

This is a thank you to all the people who helped with the Crown Leadership Academy auction. My school has had an auction for items and we would like to thank those of you who helped us with it. This goes for people who have donated items, people who have bought items and those who helped us advertise. There have been many people who helped us, so thank you all, from all of us at Crown Leadership Academy.

Why we shouldn't blame others

This is why we shouldn’t blame others. If we blame others for our own mistakes they could wrongfully get in trouble. Then we would feel guilt and they would feel the pain. Another way it could go down would be if we blame someone and they say we did it instead and we would get in trouble twice as much for lying. But if we tell the truth we might not get in trouble at all.

My video game design

This is my video game design. If I were to invent a video game it would be an arena adventure game. That mean you could go around and explore then you go to some king of stadium and duel however you might have to. You also wouldn’t need a controller; you would step in a suit and walk around in real life to control the character in the game.

Ways I can show love

These are ways I can show love. I can show love by helping with chores around the house. Another way I can show love is by thanking people for things they give me or just for anything. A third way is by giving other people things. A fourth way I can show love is by playing games with people and getting along.

Egyptian Riots

Recently there have been riots in Egypt. Over in Egypt the people have been angry with the government so the citizens have been protesting about it. This is bad for us because the Suez Canal is now a “war zone” making it harder and more expensive to travel through there when carrying oil shipments. Also for the people who are there, commodities are much more expensive and there has been a secret police that were sent out and the local jails have been opened letting prisoners escape. Hopefully though, Egyptian life will eventually be better then ever.

The happiest day of the year

Apparently studies have shown today is “The happiest day of the year”, so here is what makes me happy. I am happy when it is raining outside; I think the sun is just too bright. I also like it when it isn’t too hot or too cold to play in, unless the too cold is snow. Another think I love is when I get a new video game to play, then it doesn’t matter what the temperature is outside. Although the thing that make me happiest is probably when I go on vacation with my family to Disney World.

This is about my school field trip on Saturday. This Friday we are all having a required field trip to go feed the hungry. I say required because I don’t want people to keep on posting “Why would you go to a field trip on a Saturday. I and my classmates are going to go to Monck’s Corner to feed the hungry and less fortunate people food and to pray for them.  We are going to do it to try and be witnesses of God and spread his word.

My iPhone

This is about my iPhone. I recently had a birthday and on my birthday I got an iPhone, oh yeah! An iPhone is a phone which can access the internet, hold many apps at a time, and is an iPod.  I have used it very much by listening to music, playing games and taking pictures or videos one of them is my baby brother dancing. It’s really fun but a big responsibility so I am glad I got it.

My leaders

These are the leaders in my life. The leaders in my life are my parents. They tell me what to do and if it’s right to do or not. They also have gotten me everything I have including my personality. But most importantly they make sure I am okay.

Thursday, January 20, 2011

What a leader is to me.

This is my definition of a leader. I think a leader is the head of something. He tells people how to do things and that they should do them. He is tasked with being the example of his followers. If someone needs a plan the leader is the one who will make it.

Why I am a Christian

This is why I am a Christian. I am a Christian for many reasons. One of them is that Jesus actually died for me so the least I can do is sing a song about him. Another is that the bible is proven to be true everyday by miracles and messages from God. Also the miracles of God have been proven physically, they have discovered Noah’s ark but the government of the country it’s in has restricted the air space to see it because they don’t want people to see it and know God is real.

My Friend Aubrey

I have a friend called Aubrey. He recently had a birthday. Some things about Aubrey are that he lets people know how he’s feeling and when. He knows who his friends are and he plays games with them for fun. I know he is a good person to be with because my baby brother Scott smiles once he sees him and they do say that babies and pets are the best judges of character.

My Extra-Curricular Class, Part 2

Hey sorry I haven't posted this yet I've had some technical difficulties but now I am back in business with my blog. My basketball practice went very bad. I couldn't make a basket, the coach got on to me for everything I did, and I didn't know any of the positions he was telling me to get to. Although there were a lot more practices and even some games, my latest game happened yesterday on the team Reliable Construction Co. (Try cheering that from the bleachers.) I was one of the tallest people on the team so I had to catch a rebound and put it back up on the basket. Last night I was actually able to make a rebound then when I shot the ball back up it hit the edge of the basket then stood on the side for what seemed like an eternity until it fell in and I made my first shot of the season. My team ended up crushing the opponent by fourteen points. After that, I had a cheeseburger and frosty from Wendy's, and went home.
