The Alphabet

This is about the Alphabet. The first letter in the alphabet is A and the second is B. This is in our alphabet, in the Latin version the first two letters are Alpha and Beta which is why it’s called the AlphaBet. Also, the first four letters of the alphabet, A,B,C,D, don’t appear in any numbers until the number 100. In fact, “C” isn’t in any single number. Text that deliberately excludes one letter of the alphabet is called a lipogram. The best recorded English lipogram was a book in 1939 a book called Gadsby: Champion of Youth. It used more than 50,000 words, none of which contained the letter “E”. Finally, a sentence which contains all 26 letters of the alphabet is called a pangram, an example is "Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs."

Fake Leap Day Tradition

This is a fake Leap Day tradition. For Leap Day you go home, and do whatever you want. I would stay at home and play on my computer and watch television, or I might play on my Xbox 360. You also don’t have to work the next day. That’s about all there is to the “holiday” if you call it that.

Unfinished Projects

This is about projects I have started but never finished. I hate thinking about things I have started but never finished, it makes me feel bad to know it’s still there and I haven’t done it. Whenever I think about one I try to shrug it off and forget about it, because I hate thinking about it. When I don’t finish a project it’s usually because I really didn’t like doing it, so I know that I’ll have to go and do more of it if I want to finish it. Or it could be harmless and I like it, but someone said something about me or it and whenever I think about completing the project, I remember what the person said and it makes me want to not do it.

My Extra-Curricular

This is about my extra-curricular. I don’t have an extra-curricular anymore because the basketball season ended, although it was very fun when I did. I played for Reliable Construction for the second year in a row, with the same coach as the last year. We were the best team in the league, only one team defeated us and they often cheated. They would literally slap our team in the face during games. Had they played fair we would have beaten them. I usually got at least one basket a game, a personal season record, and I had an incredible growth spurt so I was able to play incredible defense.

Humility

This is how I feel about humility. Being humble means to realize you’re not the best at something, or to realize someone is better than you. I think being humble is extremely important because God favors humility and hates pride. I struggle with humility in math, I find it hard to ask others for help when I know I should and when I help others I feel proud that they asked me. When others aren’t humble to me I feel angry. When they think they’re better than me they won’t listen to what I have to say, even though it could help them, they just decide to do their own thing without considering things.

My Favorite Books

These are my favorite books. When I was younger my favorite book was Duncan the Dancing Duck, because my name is Duncan. Obviously it’s about a duck named Duncan who dances. My mom would read it to me before I went to sleep some nights. My favorite book now is The 39 Clues. It’s about two orphans who search the globe to find the 39 clues. I really like these books so I am always happy to see the Dancing Duck in my room or to hear a new 39 Clues is coming out.

My Personality Profile

This is about my personality profile. Last Thursday Mrs. Cindy Rich came into my class and gave us a personality quiz. We had to answer questions about which trait is most like us in a row of character traits, giving the one most like us a 4 and the least a 1. At the end we added up our score in each column and whichever one had the most points would give a letter to describe us. My letter was “C” which basically means I like to think carefully before I do things, I like to work carefully and organized, and I like to work with like-minded people who can get the work done. I learned that I need to tell people what’s wrong with me instead of just thinking about it and bottling it up.

Things that Anna Needs to Know about Crown

This is what our new student Anna needs to know about Crown. First off, the teachers don’t go home every day, they sleep on the roof each night. Also, every day at two o’clock a hobo comes in and breaks all of our windows. She also needs to know that we have another student named Anna so we need to find a way to identify who were talking about when we say their name. They do have one major difference though... The new Anna is older by a couple months. That’s pretty much all she needs to know, except that we have fire drills each day where we set the kitchen on fire and evacuate the school.

My Chapel Yesterday

This is about my chapel yesterday. Yesterday my school had a guest speaker over for chapel, most of us call her Mrs. Trisha. She gave us candy for just being awesome people, and she kept on hitting me. I usually don’t get picked for audience participation. She gave out handfuls of candy at the end and they were very good. She was a very nice guest, and she was okay with people not always having to give a correct answer to every question.

My Day with my Little Brother Scott

This is about my day with my little brother Scott yesterday. Yesterday I stayed home to do my work so I could watch my little brother Scott because he might have been sick, we had a good time. He was watching Octonauts, Mickey Mouse, and Veggietales nonstop. We played a bunch of different games with each other and he liked to play with my fedora. When he saw some people headbutt on television then say, “ow” he touched his head to my stomach and said, “ow” over and over; it was very cute. One of my favorite parts of the day was when he fell asleep at 2 o’clock, giving me the rest of the day to relax.

The Differences Between the Color Red and the Color White

These are the differences between the color red and the color white. The color red is the color of blood, and white is not. The color white is easier to see in the dark than red is. Also, red is the name of a movie which I’ve seen that is really funny, white is not. Some similarities between the two colors, is that they are both used for Valentine’s Day. They also both make up the color pink.
