If I could Live Anywhere in the World

If I could live any place in the world I would live in South Africa. I would live there because I have a lot of family members that live over there. Half of my family lives over there, and where they live isn’t too different from where I live. They still live in the suburbs and they still have regular furniture. Also they have really good deserts. The number one reason I would live there would still have to be my family members that live there, they are very fun and love Jesus Christ.

My Experience with Hurrican Irene

This is my experience of Hurricane Irene. I had to take out the trash on Friday and when I did there were a lot of clouds outside. They were moving very fast and had a little bit of thunder to them. There was also a wind coming in but it was not too hard. Also the rain had not started yet. I then went back inside my house and a couple hours later it rained for about ten minutes and the power went out for 7 seconds. The next day I was told the clouds were part of Irene and I thought to myself, “That was a small storm for a hurricane.”

What I've Learned so Far in Social Studies

This is what I’ve learned in Social Studies. So far in Social Studies I have been learning about the Indian culture and the relationship of the Indians and the English settlers. For instance, I have learned that the Cherokee Indians used blowguns. These were 8 feet long sticks that were hollowed out so that they could fit a small dart inside to blow at animals. Also the relationship between the Catawba and the settlers was very good. This was demonstrated by the Catawba that protected the English from more violent Indians. The relationship between the two went well until the Catawba started to get diseases like small pox from the settlers. This is what I have been learning about so far in Social Studies.

My Influential Leader

An influential leader in my life has been my friend Zack. He has known me my whole life and is a very strong Christian. He is also very funny and knows when to tell people to be quiet. Plus he knows when to punish someone. He always seems to think I could be really strong in Christ so he tries to get me to read my Bible, also he teaches me new guitar chords since I’m learning. Those are the reasons why he is an influential leader in my life.

The Time I Stood Out from the Crowd

This was a time I stood out from the crowd. Once I went on the Disney Cruise ship and I went to a kid’s room. They were playing karaoke there and up next was a kid who had a speech problem. His brain was wired so when he tried to say something he just muttered and said things like “kdshofhou”. He started singing and a few people were up with him. Later a few people left the mumbling boy on stage and I was the only one with him and I stayed with him to the very end of the song.

The Nicest thing Anyone has Ever done for Me

The nicest thing anyone has ever done for me was on my 12th birthday when my parents gave me an iPhone. For the past couple of years I wanted a phone so badly. My sister had one, my mom had one, my dad had one, and some of my friends did, too. When my sister was 11 she got a phone, so I expected to get one then as well. When I didn’t, I got very sad. The next year on my 12th birthday I was hoping I would get a phone; I didn’t like how I had to wait a whole year than my sister but as long as I got a phone I would be happy. After everyone gathered around to see me open my presents I heard a phone ring over on the living room television. I went to see where it was coming from and I saw a brand new iPhone. I was so happy and I decided it was definitely worth waiting an extra year.

How I Think the School Year is Going

This is how I think the school year is going. The first two days of school went very well, on the first day we met all the new students and had a lot of fun. Their names were Aaron, Caleb, Weston, Darcy, Hunter, Anna, Elise, and Weston. They had some trouble getting used to capture the flag recess but they got the hang of it. The next day was very good, another school brought us cookies and then at recess a man brought us brownies. Despite tripping on a desk drawer and scraping my knee really badly I’d say today also went pretty well, and I hope the rest of the year is just as good, except for the injuries I don’t want any more of those.
